Chesterfield Borough Council has launched a new Call for Sites, inviting landowners, developers and other stakeholders to put forward land for consideration as part of the emerging Local Plan process. This presents an exciting opportunity for those looking to influence the future growth, development and environmental enhancement of the borough.
The latest Call for Sites follows a previous exercise undertaken in 2025 and aims to identify any additional land that has become available since that time. Landowners who submitted sites during the 2025 exercise do not need to re-submit them, as all previously submitted sites will continue to be considered as part of the assessment process.
Individuals, landowners and organisations with land within the Chesterfield Borough boundary can submit sites of any size for a wide range of potential uses, including:

Employment and Commercial Development
Town Centre Regeneration
Gypsy and Traveller Accommodation
Tourism and Leisure Opportunities
Renewable and Low-Carbon Energy Generation
Wildlife Conservation and Biodiversity Enhancement
